Meet my Centipede

My first centipede is, so far, the most venomous animal I’ve ever kept. It demands significantly more caution than my tarantulas or any of my other invertebrates.

Because of this, I’ve taken extra safety measures. I’ve secured the enclosure, and before I do any work inside, I always make sure I know exactly where the centipede is. I never take any chances.

Despite the heightened level of care required, keeping this centipede has been incredibly exciting and rewarding. The feeding sessions in particular are fascinating and genuinely entertaining to watch.

After successfully keeping and working with Old World tarantulas for a while, adding a large centipede felt like a logical next step in my journey as a keeper.

It’s a beautiful, impressive, and somewhat intimidating animal and I’m really enjoying the challenge.

Since I don’t know the sex yet, let’s just call him Centi.
